ARISA Lab is an education and consulting organization that helps bring participatory science and public-facing STEM initiatives to life.
We provide educational project management, curriculum development, and implementation support for projects that invite members of the public to learn, contribute, and engage with science. We work with project teams to turn complex ideas into clear, practical learning experiences and participation opportunities.
What We Do
- Managing the logistics needed to move a project from concept through implementation
- Applying Universal Design for Learning principles to provide multiple ways to access information, participate, and demonstrate understanding
- Planning and managing educational and participatory science initiatives
- Creating participant training programs, participant guides, and implementation materials
- Coordinating project partners, educators, subject-matter experts, and community organizations
- Supporting participant recruitment, communication, and engagement
Our Approach
We believe people engage with science in different ways. Universal Design for Learning guides us in creating flexible experiences that use multiple formats and pathways for learning and participation.
Our goal is to make complex projects understandable, manageable, and engaging for the people they are designed to reach.
About Our Name
Although “Lab” is part of our name, ARISA Lab is not a scientific research or testing laboratory. We use “Lab” to describe our collaborative approach to developing and implementing educational strategies, resources, and participation frameworks for participatory science initiatives.
